Ephesians 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Ephesians 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

The husband who loves his wife is wise.  He is building his house.  There is no such thing as loving her too much or showing too much affection.  The husband who neglects this makes his wife's life hard, but he also makes his own life hard.  A wife and mother receives no money, just as local deacons who serve in churches are not paid, but they receive the love of their husbands and honor from their children.

The wife who reverences her husband does well for her husband and for herself.  Failure to do this will bring misery to her husband and to herself.  A husband and father in the home is not paid for the service, just as local elders who govern local churches are not paid, but they do receive, or they ought to receive, honor from their wives and their children.  They receive respect.

In those homes where there are Christian mothers and a Christian fathers, the husbands and wives have Christ in them.  They need to discern the Body of Christ in their Homes.  If they cannot love and respect the Christ in their spouses whom they have seen, they certainly cannot love and respect Christ the Head in Heaven, Whom they have not seen.
