Music has transforming power and a unifying effect. Music is a gift to us from God. Some members have been given a natural gift by God and are able to edify the Church in song. Follow the leading of Christ and sing when the Holy Spirit leads. When the Church is singing, you sing too. If you can play an instrument, use it to the glory of God. If you have a music ministry, stir up the ministry by practice, and use it for ministry in the local Church and in the Church Universal at camps.
"Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." Ephesians 5:19 & 20 Sing during times of fellowship with Christ the Body. Don't fear to sing in the Spirit. When the Holy Spirit moves in singing in the Spirit, give yourself fully to it. Don't hold back on God. If you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you.
Exercise discretion in your music. Satan's music can often be found where you don't consciously notice it, but it is perhaps most dangerous at this level. You may find it in the background music on TV for instance. If you listen to the wrong kind of music, it will harm your ministry. Satan wants to use music against us to bring us out of the presence of God. Satan does not care how badly you miss the mark. He just wants you to miss the mark. Never introduce music with the wrong spirit into the Church service.
