2 Corinthians 8:12, God Desires To Guide Us If We Will Yield Our Minds To Him.

God is looking for a willing, submissive mind. The human mind was never created to be used outside of a submissive relationship with God, but rather to be in submission to the Holy Spirit. When people try to be brilliant on their own, their pride will come before their fall.
