Atheism

The danger here is that many Christian organizations have adopted Atheistic dogmas into their own dogmas.

Atheism is a belief system that is based on a universal negative (holding to a Universal Negative is irrational unless you have it by revelation from Someone Who knows all things and is qualified to say that something doesn't exist) and an argument from ignorance (arguments from ignorance are also irrational.).  Atheism depends on the twin dogmas of Naturalism and Materialism, both of which are also irrational beliefs based on universal negatives and arguments from ignorance.  Atheism is also dependent on Evolutionism, a fabrication about the history of the world that requires tolerance for a belief that conflicts with several known laws of science, ignoring a lot of the evidence, explaining much of the evidence with convoluted logic, and a dependence on the dogmas of Old Earthism and Uniformitarianism.  Uniformitarianism is based on a universal negative and an argument from ignorance plus ignoring much or the evidence or explaining it in a way that is irrational.  Old Earthism is a fabrication of the history of the Earth that must rule out the catastrophic Worldwide Flood of Noah's day of which the Bible speaks and which is so evident in geology.  Old Earthism is based on circular reasoning and wishful thinking.  If Atheism were true, there would be no right, no wrong, no free will, no logic, no science, and no real love.  Atheism claims that all things are the result of randomness, so there is no reason to believe that are perceptions are even real.  If you take God out of the picture, you cannot know anything.

It is totally irrational for a person who believes in Atheism to want to impact society or to try to convince others to their viewpoint.  It is logical for and Atheist to not care, since their paradigm doesn't allow for right, wrong, good, evil, logic, or any other such thing.  Their worldview is one of randomness.  However, all Atheists know that God existes and they know that He is just.  They just don't want Him to be their God.  They are turned over to their own reprobate minds, and those minds are under the control of created but fallen principalities and powers.  One great physical proof of the spiritual realm with God and spiritual beings on one side and those created but fallen principalities and powers on the other side fighting for control of human minds, is the religious zeal of Atheists.  Go on the blogs and you will see Atheists fighting for their beliefs.  They have seen it as important to take control of court systems, news systems, education systems, government grant systems (particular for scientific grants), and every form of communication.  They seek to block every other message.  That would not happen if they truly believed in the non-existence of God.  They know that God exists and have set out in a war against Him.

Atheism is the belief, against all evidence, in no God. "A" is "not" or "un." Theism is God or belief in God. In the Bible, God calls Atheists "unbelievers" or "the ungodly." God also tells us that Atheists know that God exists but that they refuse to hold Him in their knowledge. Atheists disobey what Jesus identified as the greatest commandment: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, and mind," which results in them committing the greatest sin.

Atheists should not be thought of as the enemy. As Christ had compassion on the masses, saying that they are like sheep without a shepherd, so we ought to look at the Atheists with compassion and pity their empty lives that are devoid of meaning. They are forced to try in vain to create meaning for their lives. They do not want to accept the true reason that God created them. They do not want to move at His command. So they are outside of the glory of God, unable to sense His presence.

These are people who are crying out for meaning. Atheists face a serious problem of meaninglessness. They are often very self-righteous, the only kind of righteousness that is available to them since they have rejected the free gift of righteousness that God gives. Many are desperately trying to fill this void with a religious zeal for spreading their doctrine of Atheism. This is just an attempt to try to create some kind of meaning for their lives. Their philosophy eliminates the possibility of real meaning or purpose, so they feel that they need to do something.

Some of them become nasty, argumentative, and actually a bit loopy in their logic. Keep in mind that most of the things they are saying they have picked up from a few Atheistic evangelists such as Hawkins and the like. The person you are talking to probably doesn't even know how to find out if something is logical or not... though they probably use the word, logic, a lot.

  • The fact is that God loves these people too and God is speaking to them through Christians like yourself to try to turn them from their own destruction. Atheists have a tendency to turn to hedonism--self gratification and the pursuit of pleasure, but, in the end, they find that this doesn't satisfy. If they turn to drugs, they eventually find that the drugs do not bring the fulfillment that they had hoped for. They may pursue more learning or turn to excessive work or turn to some form of self-effort of good works in an effort to find some meaning, but their mindset short circuits the entire concept of meaning.
  • Human beings were created for a purpose. That purpose is to be joined to God in an amazing way. When any person cannot find this unity with their creator, there is an emptiness that is unacceptable to them. Often, Atheists turn to the occult/New Age in an attempt to find meaning. As with all their other efforts, the occult will not fulfill their need either.
  • As a Christian, you need to be careful that the philosophies of Atheism do not creep into your thinking. Many Churches are teaching these precepts instead of the good news about Jesus Christ.
    • The entire concept of Atheism is irrational, but Atheists tend to present it as if it were the only rational view.
    • Every theology or logical statement has a root cause. Once you have asked, "Why do you believe that?" repeatedly until there is nothing to be asked, you arrive at the root cause. The root cause for the Christian, for instance, is, "God led me." The root cause or the bed-rock basis of Atheism is the Atheist's presupposition which claims that God doesn't exist. This root cause has nothing that causes it other than, "Because I prefer to believe this to be true." From this root cause premise, the Atheist seeks to prove that God doesn't exist. That is circular reasoning. Every single "proof' that they present is dependent on their presupposition of the supposed non-existence of God. When you presuppose what you are trying to prove, that is circular reasoning. also known as begging the question.
    • To add to the insanity, the Atheist is claiming to know all things including the personal spiritual experiences of every person. In other words, the Atheist is claiming to be God.
  • So, why would a Christian absorb any of this nonsense. For two reasons. You have a fleshly nature and your fleshly nature hates God. Also, you are exposed to a constant bombardment from ungodly people in every media source, TV, movies, magazines, schools, news, and many of the churches. Everywhere you look, the precepts of Atheism have crept in. This is so much the case that many Christians live as if they were Atheists, some of them getting involved in sin more than even the Atheists do. To get involved in sin will only lead to pain and suffering for the Christian and for everyone who loves the Christian--simply because it is painful to watch the suffering of someone you love.
  • Christianity is based on Jesus Christ, the Living Christ, Who reveals Himself to the Christian on an ongoing basis. Believer's have the supernatural trust that is a gift from God. By this trust, we see Jesus and hear His Voice. It is Jesus Himself who reveals to us that the Bible is His Word, His Utterance. And it is Jesus Himself Who speaks to us through His Word. Jesus speaks to us through many different means: Scripture, intuition, bringing Scripture to our remembrance, apostles, prophets, etc. When God speaks to us, faith comes and with faith comes a vision of hope. This vision shows us who we are in Christ in an ever-more-clear understanding. When God speaks, He instructs us what to think, what to say, and what to do. Then, He does the work through us by His grace, His free gift of righteousness. This righteousness of God in us is the moving of the Holy Spirit that transfigures us from glory to glory to be like Jesus, killing our fleshly nature and causing Christ to be more fully formed in us. And this death to self, to the old adamic sin nature, and building up of Christ is the very thing that redeems us, sets us free from slavery to the fleshly nature, to Satan, to the pressures of the world, and to death. Atheism is based on poor logic, simply a rebellious claim that stands against everything that can be observed in the universe. (some caveats about hearing God's Voice)
  • Much information is available on SeekFind.net and in other resources for refuting Atheism, but be careful to focus on Jesus. There is no joy in winning an argument and losing a soul.
  • As with any witness, what you do is most effective. Talk about your experience with Jesus, how He leads you and speaks to you and does His work through you by His power.

Ungodly people are forced to hold on tightly to some basic presuppositions.  These presuppositions are just simple-minded assumptions.  They are filters and a way to censor out any information that supports the existence of God.  They set up a web of rules to filter out God.  They will only accept those things that conform to Naturalism, materialism, and uniformitarianism.  Naturalism claims that God does nothing.  Materialism claims that there is no God or spiritual realm.  Uniformitarianism claims that there was not creation and that there was no violent worldwide flood, as the Bible and numerous other historical accounts record.  Whatever they observe that does not conform to this complex filter is censored.  The way that it is censored can take several forms.  The ungodly may boldly proclaim that, though the data appears to support God's version and refute the version of the ungodly, yet it still must be interpreted to mean just the opposite of what it does mean.  A backup method that ungodly people use is to prophecy that in the future, science will be able to explain what they see as an anomaly.  If that fails, they will hide the data, set it aside, or lie to keep the public from knowing the truth.  The data clearly demolishes the story of the ungodly and clearly supports the reality of the Creator God, His Bible, and His abiding Presence in His people.  When confronted with the obvious, a closed-minded ungodly person says, "I can't understand it."  They are willingly ignorant because they refuse to hold God in their knowledge.  The reality is that these people, for whatever reason, don't what to know the Creator.  They don't want to truly know Jesus, their Creator.

  • The Atheists, and those who believe Atheistic dogmas, claim that all they need to do is to prove that science could explain everything we needed to know without reference to God.  If science is equivalent to story-telling this might have been true, except that we now know that scientific-sounding-story-telling cannot explain everything without violating several basic laws of science.

The reality is that the Atheists, and those who believe Atheistic dogmas, actually need to do a lot more than to prove that science could explain everything we needed to know without reference to God.  They need to show proof that their stories have actually taken place, which they have not been able to do.  They must show proof that God does not exist, which they have not been able to do.  They have to show proof, using something besides circular reasoning, arguments from ignorance, universal negatives, and other irrational arguments, that followers of Christ are not actually hearing His Voice and being filled with His Spirit and having Him do His works through them.

Humanism is yet another synonym for Atheism.  Humanism dogmatically supposes  and preaches that there is no God other than humanity.  Humanists are Atheists. Secular Humanism is probably the most recognized name for the natural-human-goodness belief. If you Google \"Human Goodness Cult,\" you will get this page and some information from Chris Short who writes about, \"Human Service Alliance and after quite a few name changes (to include the University for Human Goodness) it is now known as the Center for Purposeful Living.\" You will also find a Wikipedia page about the so-called \"noble...

Humanism is yet another synonym for Atheism.  Humanism dogmatically supposes  and preaches that there is no God other than humanity.  Humanists are Atheists. Atheism/Humanism is one of the most violent of all religions, and, like all religions, it claims to be peaceful. If Humanists/Atheists were truly not a religion bent on control and conversion, there would not be the angst for spreading their false gospel and defending their make-believe belief...

Baha\'i rationalizes that the human soul is essentially good and that salvation and righteousness can be achieved through human effort. This self-righteousness is part of the cause of their frustration. As with all religions that emphasize human effort as the source of righteousness, the followers of Baha\'i are not able to fulfill true righteousness. One follower...
