| v. 3 Self-made Righteousness |
|
Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God. They were ignorant of God's righteousness, so they tried to establish their own righteousness. Of course, they could not do it. They didn't submit to God's righteousness. Righteousness is a free gift from God. It is part of wisdom. Wisdom is part of grace. Some people try to establish their own wisdom. They try to establish their own righteousness. All they would need to do is to allow God to do His work through them. All they would need to do is to yield the members of their body, their eyes, their mouths, their hands, to God who can do His works through them. God is saying, "Listen to Me." We need to listen. We need to allow God to do His work through us.
We need to simply submit ourselves to God's righteousness and allow Him to do His works through us. That is the purpose of being filled with the Holy Spirit of God. How silly to go about and try to establish our own righteousness!
How can we know anything about anything? That’s the real question |
