Listening -- Wise Sayings About ListeningA dog has many friends because he wags his tail instead of his tongue. A good listener is not only popular, but he learns while he listens. A wise man is one who learns from everyone. Curiosity is the beginning of the learning cycle. Don't answer a matter until you have paraphrased it back to the satisfaction of the other person. Free expression is a safety valve. Escaping steam alarms us, but is a sign of safety. Don’t panic. Listen. Great minds discuss ideas. Good minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people. He lives most who lives for others. He that inquires much learns much. If you open your mind too much, your brain will fall out. If you want to be popular, learn to listen. It is better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot. Love and understanding turn a look into a smile and a house into a home. Match the level of anger of others with your level of concern. Match the level of passion of others with your level of interest. Minds, like parachutes, work only when they are open. No one is too big to be kind and courteous--but some are too little. One of the greatest gifts we can give to others is to take time to listen. Quite often you can prove your command of the language by saying nothing. The best way to be understood is to be understanding. The fact that silence is golden may explain why there's so little of it. The habit of getting to the bottom of things usually lands a man on top. The less you say, the more you don't have to apologize. The person who knows everything has a lot to learn. There is no substitute for brains, but silence sometimes helps. There's a difference between good sound reasons and reasons that sound good. When your mouth is closed, you can't put your foot in it. You can't damage a smile by cracking it. You can't expect people to see eye to eye with you if you look down on them.

John 10:35b the Scripture cannot be broken, Human theology and reasoning is not necessarily correct, but the Bible is. The Bible can only be understood by revelation, and revelation is given by the Spirit of God. God does reveal in His own way. But we only know in part. If we think we know any thing, we do not know it as we ought. We are instructed, by God, to keep seeking Him. The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth. The truth sets us free. Lies bind us. Whoever seeks Jesus does find Him. Jesus is the truth.
