Message Control By Marginalization
Marginalization is the act of trying to make the opposing viewpoint appear as if no one would even consider such a viewpoint.
- Label as out of the mainstream
- State that only those on the fringes hold this position
- Label as extreme
Examples:
- Attacks against the Gospel through the centuries
- Attacks by evolutionists against those who don't believe them
- Attacks by global warming advocates
- Attacks by liberal denominations, and the fact that they call themselves, "mainline."
