A shady business never results in a sunny life.

A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner.

A teakettle, although up to its neck in hot water, continues to sing.

Better a little with honor than much with shame.

Failure follows the man whose wishbone is where his backbone should be.

Failure is not falling down; it is remaining there when you have fallen.
