- There are different levels of authority in prophecy:
- The spirit of prophecy, the testamony of Jesus Christ that every Christian is given, has a level of authority:
- Revelations 19:10 "And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
- The gift of prophecy is given a higher level of authority than the spirit of prophecy:
- 1 Corinthians 12:10 "To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:"
- The highest level of authority is the ministry of the prophet:
- Ephesians 2:19-20 "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;"
- Ephesians 4:7, 8, 11 "But to every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;"
- Acts 13:1 "Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul."
Let God be true and every man a liar.
Apostles are given the responsibility of protecting the entire flock of God from the attack of the enemy, but with so many voices in
the world, each one claiming to be the one that should be listened to, how can you know? You are responsible to be close enough to God
so that you can tell the difference between false apostles and real apostles.
Read the complete
definition of "Apostle."
God restored the gifts of the Spirit and apostles & prophets to the church since 1948. Counterfeits and false gifts abound, but the real is still real.
How can we know anything about anything? That’s the real question
