v 9-12 Partial Knowledge |
We know in part. There are things about the spiritual realm that we know. Some, we know by experience. This is empirical knowledge. Some we know by revelation but have not yet appropriated. Those things that we know are our children's and ours. The secret things belong to God, and God will unveil them to us as we grow close to Him.
1 Corinthians 13:9-12 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect [complete] is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass [mirror], darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. This looking into the mirror is what transfigures us. God's righteousness brings holiness and redemption. (Ro. 6:19, 1 Cor. 1:30, 2 Cor. 3:18) When we discern Christ, we see Him as He is and become like Him. (1 John 3:2, James 1:22-25) When we hear His voice, we look into the perfect law of liberty. We see ourselves, the ministry, Christ in us, as opposed to the fleshly man of sin, and we see ourselves in the context of Christ the Body, every order, ministry, and office. When we respond to the leading of God by allowing Him to do His work through us, we respond to the perfect law of liberty. We are seeing Christ. When we see Him, we see Him as He is. He is a multimembered Body on earth that is in submission to the Head, Jesus, in Heaven. When we see Him in this way, we are changed from glory to glory and from faith to faith.
