yatzar/yatsar

yatzar/yatsar can be translated as formed or had formed. yatzar/yatsar actually means to form as one would form pottery.

Controversy over the use of yatzar/yatsar in Genesis 1 and 2: Those who wish that they could find either internal or external inconsistency in the Bible have found one in some translations, though not in the original text. Some translations have corrected this. Hebrew shows no difference in the form of the verb, so it should be translated by context. Unfortunately, translators don't always get the context right and they make things seem as if there were a contradiction when the original language shows no contradiction. Of course, Atheists and those who want to add to or take from the Bible take things out of context on purpose, even though it is irrational to do so.

As God speaks to us and reveals that the Scripture cannot be broken, so it is in this case. Moses wrote the one account that spans Genesis 1 and 2. He wrote it consistently and so those who read it need to use the words that have more than one meaning in the context in which they were written.
