Bible Dictionary Definition of liberal:The word, liberal, as used in the Bible is far from the liberalism as it is used in English in today's society. In today's society there is a formal political philosophy that is based on self-righteousness. The word is applied to Christians meaning those who no longer consider the Bible to be a valid guide in all matters. It is also used as a label for those who enter into all types of sin, covetousness, sexual sins, rebellion, disorder, etc. (read more) The word has three different meanings in the Bible depending on which Hebrew or Greek word it is translated from. The word, liberal, is only used in four verses in the KJV Bible as seen in the examples below.
