John 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: We must begin to know the difference between that which comes from Jesus and that which comes from our own mind or some other source. We require discernment between Jesus and our own mind. We humans are complex beings, and science has done little but confuse, since they have gone into speculations beyond their ability to observe. As we obey, our senses are heightened. As we read the Word, if we ask the Holy Spirit to minister to us, lay down our soul-life of theologies and ideas and ego, and listen to the voice of God, we become more sensitive. As we spend time with our Savior praying in tongues and with the understanding, just standing in His presence and seeking His face, we begin to have discernment. When we disobey or neglect the gifts that God has given, then our senses are dulled, they can become seared as with a hot iron. Spending time with the wrong kinds of music or the wrong friends will do this. Being exposed to the wrong spirits can do this, as with video games, violent and godless shows, and even our own evil thoughts. When God shows us more about His holy order in our homes, in our churches, or in any part of our lives, we need to pay attention or we can sear our conscience by ignoring the Holy Spirit and His direction.
How can we know anything about anything? That’s the real question |
