A common reason given for rejecting Christ is to say that there are too many hypocrites in the church.  That reasoning is hypocritical in itself.  It is a very self-righteous and contemptuous accusation.  On the other hand, there is hypocrisy in the church.

Of course, there is hypocrisy in the Church, just as there is hypocrisy in every person on Earth.  There is not a just person on Earth who walks perfectly before God.  

Much of what is called the church is not the church at all.

• There would be less hypocrisy among Christians if more Christians would get saved.
• There would be even less hypocrisy among Christians if saved Christians would reject rationalized and spiritualized suppositions and fabrications.
• There would be even less hypocrisy among Christians if saved Christians would keep pressing on toward higher heights and deeper depths in Christ Jesus.
• Socialism is neither the Kingdom of God nor the mission of the Church.  The Kingdom of God is established first in the heart, and it cannot be established by coercion.

• We don't know if the following story is actually true or not.  (A friend of ours says it is, and he has reasons to know.) Things like this happen too much too often...
   
  I was sitting at a stop light this morning.  The lady in front of me was going through papers on the seat of her car, and when the stoplight changed to green she did NOT obey its command!  A green light is a command(ment) NOT a suggestion.  When the light turned to red, and she still hadn't moved, I lost my sanctification and started (with my windows up) screaming epithets and beating on my steering wheel.
   
  My expressions of distress where interrupted by a big policeman, one hand on his gun holster, and the other tapping on my window.  Against my protestations of, "You can't arrest me for hollaring in my car," he ordered
  me into the back seat of his.
   
  After about two hours in a holding cell, the arresting officer advised me I was free to go.  I said, "I told you that you couldn't arrest me for yelling in my own car.  Believe me, you haven't heard the last of this."
   
  The officer replied, "I didn't arrest you for shouting in your car.  I was directly behind you at the light.  I saw you screaming your head off and beating your steering wheel, and I thought to myself, "What a jerk.  But there is nothing I can do to him for throwing a fit in his own car."  Then I noticed the CROSS hanging from your rear view mirror, the bright yellow "CHOOSE LIFE" license tag and the "JESUS IS COMING SOON" bumper sticker, and I thought you must have stolen the car.
