The reason that theistic evolutionist Christians become dogmatic about speculatively inserting long periods of time into the creation account is that they have been sitting in the counsel of the ungodly. They had learned the lie that the earth was billions of years old. There is much evidence that, combined with several assumptions and presuppositions, would indicate that the creation is billions of years old. This is the equivalent of being educated into ignorance. There is no problem with the evidence. There are always problems with assumptions and presuppositions. Christians get into trouble when they lean on their own understanding and make up stories and precepts out of their own minds. The most obvious precepts that theistic evolutionists have received from the unbelievers were these: materialism, Naturalism, and uniformitarianism. These three presuppositions are false. Often, theistic evolutionists will also claim that they are not naturalists, yet they use presumptive language to presuppose materialism, Naturalism, and uniformitarianism into their arguments for an old earth. There is plenty of evidence for a young Earth and a recent creation:
If we sit in the counsel of the ungodly, we will be deceived. There are times when we have to take classes at secular universities, but we should remember who we are listening to. We have times when we are required to read a secular book, but we must remember that secularism is at odds with God. One of the major lies of this era is the claim that Secularism is neutral. Secularism is a cult with a violent history against Christ and those who follow Christ. If we watch the news, we must remember that we are getting information that is highly slanted and filtered. Blessed are those who do not sit in the counsel of the ungodly. In many churches, the pastors have been educated into ignorance in their ungodly seminaries. If you are a pastor and reading this, search your heart. Have you been led astray by sitting in the counsel of the ungodly? Are there verses of Scripture that you say no longer apply or are not important? Are there verses of Scripture that require a lot of explaining and mental gymnastics to really understand? Are you still sitting in the counsel of the ungodly?
How can we know anything about anything? That’s the real question |
