It's time to be tired of plastic, make-believe spirituality and religion.    

Real spiritual exercise causes you to grow in Christ.     To grow in power.     To grow in righteousness.     To grow in love.   

1Ti 4:7-8 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather to godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable to all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Disobedience leads to a seared conscience.

1Ti 4:1-6 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.        

Obedience leads to senses that are keen.

Hebrews 5:13-14 For every one that useth milk is unskillfull in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.        But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

This, in no way implies that you are earning your way into the Kingdom of God through your works.    

Though Galatians is often used to speak to the un-saved, the whole Letter of Paul to the Galatians is addressed to born again Christians who received the free gift of grace to be born again.     Having been born by the free gift, they were trying to finish the work by their own works.     This point is often lost to some of the people who speak about this Biblical Book.     What they really needed to do was to walk in the Spirit and allow God do His works through them.

There is physical exercise and there is spiritual exercise. Spiritual exercise causes you to grow in Christ. Walking in obedience to God is exercise that causes spiritual senses in the Christian to become more sensitive to the voice of God. Listening to the wrong counselors and obeying them instead of God results in a conscience that is seared. It results in a dulling of the senses.
