Mark 9:1-7  And He said to them, "Truly I say to you that there are some of those who stand here who will not taste of death until they have seen the Kingdom of God come with power.  And after six days Jesus took Peter, and James, and John with Him and led them up into a high mountain apart by themselves, and He was transfigured [metamorphoo] before them.  And His clothing became shining, exceedingly white as snow, whiter than any professional cleaner could make them.  And Elijah with Moses appeared to them, and they were talking with Jesus.  And Peter said to Jesus, "Teacher, it is good for us to be here, and let us make three tabernacles, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah, for he didn't know what to say because they were terrified.  And there was a cloud that overshadowed them, and a Voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my beloved Son; hear Him."

They saw the kingdom of God.  Jesus was transfigured before them and they saw the Kingdom.  This transfiguration is the true Feast of Tabernacles and the glory that shall be revealed in us who believe.  Some people think that it will take a trip up into the sky to make this happen, but the Bible doesn't say this.

In 2 Peter 1:16, Peter tells us that he and the other apostles have "not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the power and coming [literal: abiding presence] of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.  2 Peter 1:16-18  We Made Known to You the Power And Coming [literal: Abiding Presence] of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.  For He received honour and glory from God the Father, when there came such a voice to Him from the excellent glory, "This is My beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased."  And we heard this Voice which came from Heaven when we were with Him in the holy mountain.

Luke 9:27-36 But I tell you of a truth that there are some standing here who shall not taste of death until they see the Kingdom of God."  About an eight days after these utterances, He took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.  And as He prayed, the appearance of His Face was altered and His clothing was white like flashing lightning.  And, two men talked with Him who were Moses and Elijah who appeared in glory and spoke of His death which He would fulfill at Jerusalem.  But Peter and those who were with Him were heavy with sleep, and when they were awake, they saw His glory and the two men that stood with Him; as those departed from Him, Peter said to Jesus, "Teacher, it is good for us to be here, and let's make three tabernacles, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah." not knowing what he was saying.  While he spoke in this way, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were in reverential obedience as they entered into the cloud.  And a Voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son: hear Him.  And when the Voice was past, Jesus was found alone.  And they kept it quiet and told no one in those days any of those things that they had seen.
