| v 1 Suffering |

There are many ways of suffering in the flesh. You suffer in the flesh when you obey the Spirit of God rather than your fleshly desires, those desires that come from the part of your soul, your heart, that is still under the control of your body. We suffer in the flesh when we say the things that the Holy Spirit put into our hearts and we are persecuted for it. We suffer in the flesh when we give love in spite of the fact that our love is not appreciated and we are laughed at and scorned. We suffer in the flesh when we forgive and we bless those who curse us.
1Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
