| v 19-22 Foundational Ministries |
|
Jesus is the foundation and no other foundation can be laid other than that which is laid. (1 Corinthians 3:11) Jesus said to Simon, you are peter [a little stone] and upon this rock [mighty boulder] I shall build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. How this Scripture has been twisted to mean something that the original language never said! The mighty boulder is Christ. When the apostles and prophets build on that foundation, they actually become part of the foundation through submission to the Holy Spirit. It's a progressive walk day by day. If we remain the same day after day, we are stagnated. Ephesians 2:19-22 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth to a holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the Spirit. Some have grasped after the office of the apostle and the ministry of the prophet in this age, without ever having been sent by God. They ran, but God never sent them. Others have been sent by God. The church will need the apostle and prophet until we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of God's Son, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
Let God be true and every man a liar. Apostles are given the responsibility of protecting the entire flock of God from the attack of the enemy, but with so many voices in the world, each one claiming to be the one that should be listened to, how can you know? You are responsible to be close enough to God so that you can tell the difference between false apostles and real apostles. Read the complete definition of "Apostle."
How can we know anything about anything? That’s the real question |
