| v. 10-14 Pressing In |
|
Philippians 3:10-14 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable to his death; If by any means I might attain to the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth to those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. We must continue to press toward this mark. The calling is very high. We are not to be at ease in Zion. The Bible says, "Woe to those who are at ease in Zion." There are stern warnings to the lukewarm church. We are called to press on into the Spiritual realm. Even now, we know that, in our spirits, we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places, the air, the Spiritual realm. The battle is now for the mind. Just because Paul did not fully apprehend it, does not mean that it is off limits. It is there now for us as it was there for Paul. We don't need to have glorified bodies to partake of the fruit of the Spirit. That fruit is for us right now. We must go in and possess our possessions in Christ Jesus. This is not a materialistic prosperity gospel. This is the command of the Spirit of God to be faithful and to apprehend that for which we have been apprehended.
How can we know anything about anything? That’s the real question |
