The Reason That People Leave The Traditional Churches Obviously, many who have left the church have a longing in their hearts for more than just being born again. They want more than entertainment and intellectual stimulation. They know that God has more for them, but they don't know what to do about it. They desire fulfillment. They sing, "To be like Jesus," but their churches leadership doesn't believe that such a thing could be possible to any great extent. Their teachers try to rationalize away many of the Bible promises. They look for human means to receive the gifts of the Spirit. They look for human ways to come into holiness and freedom from sin. Some say that freedom from sin isn't even possible.
They want to become like Jesus, as the Scriptures say, to be conformed to His image. Some don't even realize that the pattern of the church that is found in the Bible is the very mechanism that God has designed to bring about this fulfillment. Some don't believe in healing or miracles. There are all kinds of extra-biblical teachings in churches that claim to be Bible-believing churches. What's wrong?
People can sense that this naturalistic teaching is false teaching. They can see that it plainly conflicts with Scripture. They sense in the spirit that God has a higher calling for them.
