v 21-23 Satan Speaks through Peter

Matthew 16:21-23 From that time forth began Jesus to shew to his disciples, how that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.  Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be to thee.  But he turned, and said to Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offense to me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

It's interesting that Peter speaks as the oracle of Satan when just prior to this, he spoke by the revelation of God.  Every Christian ought to take heed.  It is easy for us to be deceived.  Our own minds are deceitful and desperately wicked. How important it is that we seek the Lord, our God and not lean on our own understanding! It is also important that we hold on to our theologies loosely, knowing how easily we can all be deceived.

Numbers 12:6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known to him in a vision, and will speak to him in a dream. Numbers 12:7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. Numbers 12:8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of...

Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed [Apokalupto: removal of a veil] them to babes. The deep things of God have been hidden from those who are considered wise and prudent.  His heart is toward the humble. 1 Corinthians 2:7-16 But we speak the wisdom of...

Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal [Apokalupto: removal of a veil] him....

The apostles receive the revelation and equip the Body with it: Matthew 16:17 "And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [Apokalupto: removal of a veil] it to thee, but...

Luke 2:29-32 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten [Apokalupsis: removal of a covering or veil] the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. Apocalypse (two Greek words, apokalupsis, and apokalupto meaning approximately the same thing) Literally, it means the removal of a covering...

1 Corinthians 14:6 Now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation [Apokalupsis: removal of a covering or veil], or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? Apocalypse (two Greek words, apokalupsis, and apokalupto meaning approximately the same thing) Literally, it means the removal of a covering or a veil. God often provides the interpretation...

1 Corinthians 14:29-33 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.  If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.  And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as...

1 Corinthians 14:30 If any thing be revealed [Apokalupto: removal of a veil] to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace This indicates a higher level of authority than those who speak by the Spirit of Prophecy. ...

1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you:But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ\'s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed [Apokalupsis: removal of a covering or veil], ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. Suffering is one of many forms of temptation.  When we suffer, we are also drawn...

The doctrine is not given by man but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Only God can reveal the interpretation of Scripture: Galatians 1:11-12 "But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ." Galatians 1:11-12 But I certify you,...

Galatians 2:2 And I went up by revelation [Apokalupsis: removal of a covering or veil] , and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. Apocalypse (two Greek words, apokalupsis, and apokalupto meaning approximately the same thing) Literally, it means the removal of a covering or a veil....

You can serve the intellect or you can serve God. You can tap into the made-up stories of your own fabrication (or the fabrications of others) or you can tap into the mind of God. Albert Einstein wanted to think God\'s thoughts. Many great scientists wanted to do the same. They were successful because God revealed the hidden wisdom and knowledge to them. There is a human faith, a...

Philosophy is based on a world view, either Christian or non-Christian. A world view exists in the natural human mind. (1 Corinthians 2:14) That which is of faith is a heavenly vision. (Acts 26:19) There is a difference between a heavenly vision and a world view. (Jeremiah 23:16) Naturalists assume that every person is in the same condition that Naturalists are in, the condition of being disconnected from Jesus and...

There is a huge difference between a worldview and the leading of God’s Spirit First, it must be stated that every person has a worldview.  The only world we really have to overcome is the world that lives in our hearts and minds.  When we have overcome the world, the devil, and our flesh, we will call that the manifestation of the sons of God. No one really interacts with the actual...

Each of us lives in our own little world, which is similar to reality but not exactly the same as reality. That is to say that there are things that each of us misunderstands, know only in part, and address with imperfect wisdom. When two people communicate, they have a tendency to step on each other\'s little worlds. Some have termed this as: \"Each person has his or her own reality.\"...

When we are born again, we have spiritual senses, which grow and mature as we mature in Christ. We grow and mature by doing spiritual exercise. That exercise is like this: God speaks. He speaks through Scripture. When God speaks to us and we hear it, faith comes. (Romans 10:17) But we must wait for a word from God. We can\'t generate or work up this word. God gives a word...

Ezekiel 2:2 And the spirit entered into me when he spake to me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake to me. Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them God does speak. He speaks to us today in many ways. There are some who say that God...

Acts 2:42-43 speaks of the apostles' doctrine, and the church is to abide continually in this doctrine. Matthew 16:17 speaks of the apostles receiving the revelation. Ephesians 1:17 tells us that to understand the apostles' doctrine, even when they are right there teaching it to us, we need the Holy Spirit of revelation. Ephesians 3:5 tells us that things hidden in ages past are now being...

Topic: Discernment of Spirits

The Holy Spirit The baptism of the Holy Spirit is real and available to you today. Scripture speaks of two distinct types of tongues. Liberalism rejects the power of the Holy Spirit It is puzzling why some Christians become upset about speaking in tongues. Why would anyone want to reject the free gift of God? Speaking In Tongues Is Biblical. What does the Bible say? First, it must be stated that tongues can...

Topic: Deception

A Teacher of logic Takes an Illogical Stand and Will Not Admit It A personal testimony: I heard an acquaintance, a teacher of logic, conversing with some students. The question was, \"Even though it\'s illogical, can we still believe in God?\" The answer the teacher gave was, \"Yes, as long as you remember that it\'s totally illogical to do so.\" This seemed like an odd conversation for several reasons. First, it seemed...

Evolution\'s Cultic Dogma   Here is a quick explanation of why evolution is religious dogma of many cults and it is not science. EVOLUTION IS A SERIES OF BROKEN ARGUMENTS A common tactic of Evolutionists is to stack one bogus argument on top of another and continue this process hoping to bury you in the debris. On examining each argument, you find that not one of them has any value. Since they have no...

Definition of Words Used by Evolutionists Convergence: a desperate effort from evolutionists to keep creatures under the evolutionary umbrella. Evolution: a term used to confuse the public through equivocation. In mid-thought, sometimes in mid-sentence, the skilled Evolutionism evangelist will switch the meaning of the word. The most common method is to start by speaking about the common variations that occur within a kind of animal, say, a dog or a finch. That...

Evolution and Confusing Words Have you noticed how many important words have at least two meanings. Often these meanings are exact opposites. Here are a few examples: Axiom of science Meaning #1: a principle that has been proven, by observation and experience, beyond a reasonable doubt. Examples: Second Law of Thermodynamics, Inverse Square Law of Gravity. Meaning #2: an assumption or made up story, that is, a fabrication, which is accepted on make...

How to Avoid Cults   You must come close to Jesus and get to know Him--this is the only place of safety. There is coming a deception so terrible that it would be impossible to avoid being deceived were it not for this one way. The only way to avoid being deceived is to get to know the real Son of God so well that you can tell when something is not from...

Mark 8:33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men. In this Scripture, Satan, the liar, speaks through Peter.  We need to yield our members, especially our tongue and the words of our mouth, to the Holy Spirit.  We can\'t yield both...

It is the proclamation of the Gospel, not argumentation, that transforms minds. See Give Them the Gospel. Whether the questions you receive are honest, sincere questions or those of an ungodly skeptic is often not known. It would not be surprising that the ungodly would use such reasoning as is found in the formulation of many of these questions. Every person has two voices speaking to them at all times. There...

God\'s way has the Scriptural structure and order and a sure foundation. God is a God of order. He has an opinion on everything, including how the foundation of His Church will be laid. No man can send himself to this work. 2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of...

The apostolic age is an assumption that support the theological position that miracles, tongues, the power of God, apostles, prophets, the gifts of the Spirit, the leading of God\'s Spirit, and many other things are no longer available to the church. Duration: Ephesians 4:11-13 The apostles will be here until we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God to a perfect man...

Jeremiah 23:16-22 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not to the words of the prophets that prophesy to you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. We know that the ministries and offices of the Church are counterfeited. Every gift of God, including salvation, is counterfeited. By their fruits shall you know them. The Scriptural order is very plain. The counterfeits: There are many instances where authority is claimed but a man or an organization is glorified. Anyone would know that this is not from God. A friend of mine went to a seminar where anyone who wanted it could purchase...

Big Brother, in the book, 1984, realized that the key to controlling the future was to control history.  He employed and army of editors to edit all historical documents to eliminate any troublesome facts.  Today, there is an army of editors doing similar work.  We often call them "scholars."  As of this writing, this army is using the philosophy called "Post Modernism" to justify their re-writing of history.  Their work...
