The controversy is a result of the fact that finding human foot prints next to and right inside of dinosaur footprints is a deadly blow to the molecules-to-man evolutionary conjecture / fabrication, and the molecules-to-man evolutionary conjecture / fabrication is a foundational dogma of Atheism, a very powerful and controlling religion in the world. Many creation scientists say that this is not a good thing to bring up because it is easy to refute and there are many other things that could be used against the story of evolution and the story of an old Earth.

The Controversy:

1. When the Paluxy human footprints were first discovered, an entrepreneur decided there was money to be made and carved out a couple foot prints and was caught.  This provided an opportunity for Atheists to discredit the Paluxy fossil human footprints.  However, just because there is a counterfeit, that never eliminates the possibility of the real.  Anything that is real and genuine will, in fact, be counterfeited.
2. Normally, a hoax will discredit the hoax alone, not all discoveries before and after the hoax, but the evidence is quite devastating to all of the various molecules-to-man evolution fabrications.  Evolutionists have the political power and have continued to exercise this power for over a century.  Evolution is a doctrine of Atheism and several other religions.  The Paluxy fossil human footprints are a threat to the dogma of evolution.  Atheism requires evolution.  Evolution is a foundational doctrine of Atheism.
3. Detecting the difference between a hoax and a genuine footprint it very straightforward, and other than the hoax of one person, the human foot prints are verified.
4. As a rescuing mechanism, some dedicated evolutionists have claimed the the human foot prints are actually dino prints, but the evidence refuting this claim is very clear.
5. Anytime any evidence is presented that doesn't confirm the molecules-to-man evolution conjecture / fabrication, that evidence is held to a much different standard from evidence that doesn't threaten the molecules-to-man evolution conjecture / fabrication.  For this reason, any evidence presented that would threaten the molecules-to-man evolution conjecture / fabrication is controversial for that reason alone, and is often routinely discarded or even covered up.  No one wants to lose their government funding.
