Ungodly people believe fabricated stories (evolutionism, old-Earthism, big-bangism, bibilcal-erroism, etc.) that are based on arbitrary assumptions (naturalism, materialism, uniformitarianism) and rationalizations. Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart. Whenever Scripture is read, God speaks through it. All Scripture is God-breathed. When you read the following, you are hearing the voice of God. (some caveats about hearing God's Voice) Exodus 20:11 "... in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them..." This is real authority. What does it actually say--without any theological interpretation or rationalization? Pray that God would show you what that means. This page is here to help supply information about the science behind the claims of an old earth versus claims for a young earth, but be forewarned. Those who want any dogma that is in conflict with the Bible want this because they want to be disobedient to God. Satan is using those who hate God to try to convince believers, especially the young, that the Bible conflicts with what can be observed using scientific method. This, of course, is a lie. If we know the age of the universe, then we must know it by the same method that we can know anything: revelation. Scientific research cannot really help by providing definitive answers to these questions, though the physical evidence is heavily weighted in favor of the Bible. Science depends on observation, and we cannot observe the past. We can only observe the present. The fact is that spiritual issues, such as how God created, when He created, and how long it took Him to create can only be revealed by God and God only will reveal to a willing heart. (read more) Those who believe that evolution took place and those who believe that the Earth is billions of years old claim that dating methods, particularly radio dating methods, prove that the Earth is billions of years old. Is there any truth to this claim? Distant Starlight argument: The real question is this? Are they saying that God could not have caused, either by natural or supernatural means, a lot of time to pass in one part of the Universe while little or now time passed on Earth? Are they saying that they know enough about the creation and about God that they can say with authority that God didn't have a way to do this? On the other hand, their own worldview has a more severe problem with distant starlight. Time is relative. This is a testable scientific fact. We don't know the extent to which this is true without any miracle, but it may be possible for a billion years to have passed outside our solar system while no time at all passed here, if conditions were right during creation. The creation story, and the rest of the Bible, is told using the frame of reference of the time that is passing on the Earth. Dr. Humphreys points out how God could have easily allowed billions of years to pass for the distant stars while virtually no time at all passed in our solar system in that part of day four when God created the stars. They illustrate our need to keep our minds open, especially when we don't have complete information. We only know in part. The Scripture is accurate, and the human mind sometimes thinks that it has understood a concept when it has not. The Bible's historical accounts, such as the creation account and the resurrection account, are accurate. There is plenty of scientific evidence for a young Earth and a recent creation:
The reason we believe is not based on physical evidence or human argument, though the observable physical evidence supports God's existence and His Truth without the mental gymnastics that the Atheists and Evolutionists find themselves tangled in. Our belief is based in the power of God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word (utterance) of God. God speaks. God speaks to every person. Whoever will listen receives the faith that is of God. This is a supernatural belief that is not human-generated. It is a gift. That faith is belief and trust that is certain that what God has said is true. Before a person is born again, the person has a history of hearing God's voice. No one can come to Christ unless the Father draws him or her. A person is born again the moment that he or she hears God's voice and receives faith to believe in Jesus as Savior from sin. In the same way, it is God who speaks and says that the Bible is the Word of God without error. When we hear His voice, then His faith comes, the supernatural belief that the Bible is the Word of God without error. Once God opens our eyes, we see that the Bible is the only truth source and that it is both internally and externally consistent. The Bible does not conflict with itself and it does not conflict with reality around us. We cannot possibly believe, that is, receive the supernatural faith of God, unless we are having an active interaction with our Maker. Some Christians are not aware enough of their own experience to know this, but every Christian hears God's voice. As Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice." And the God says, trough the Book of Hebrews in the Bible, "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart." That's why we believe that the Bible as the Word of God, that it is without error. Note that the explanation given in the previous paragraph does not depend on circular reasoning or poor logic. It depends on God. This is the kind of faith that is what is really operating. It is based on revelation. Now, a naturalist will attack the whole idea of revelation claiming that revelation cannot be verified. However, revelation can be verified and Christ-followers verify it every moment that they are following Christ. Without revelation, it is impossible to know anything at all. Philosophers have run into this problem and found that they really cannot even prove their own existence. However, revelation shows us who we are, what the body of Christ is, what the body of Christ is not, how we, as particular members of that body fit into that body, and what we are to do at each moment. Grace accomplishes the job of doing what we are led to do, fitting us into the body of Christ, and transfiguring us to be the person we were created to be in the body of Christ.
it appears to be an unscientific fairytale. However, the religion of Humanism (also known as Atheism or Secularism) needs a way to explain how everything got here. The Humanists have been very successful in the political arena, finding ways to take control of the scientific journals, the universities, and other positions of power. For this reason, Big Bang, and unscientific fairytale, is taught as if it had some validity. Possibly the very last hope has been an attack on a young Universe based on distant starlight. However, distant starlight is a tremendous problem for old Earth stories. Distant starlight is not a problem for a Biblical age of the Earth. Watch these videos and they will give you a great education on these issues. You may need to watch them several times to understand. Keep in mind that some of these videos take a dogmatic stand that the age of the Earth is about 6,000 years. This is not necessarily true. Even though a plain reading of Scripture seems to indicate a young Earth, we can't even deny the possibility that God could have done something that Scripture doesn't hint at and that has left no scientific evidence. It is possible. It just is not worth the time to think about it.

Because of the bias of those who want the Earth to be very old, they chose those few indicators of an old Earth. This video shows how those indicators that had once seemed to support an old Earth have now been shown to actually support a very young Earth. Charles Lyell made the idea of a very old Earth. Lyell was an Atheist, a lawyer, who made statements about his purpose to sway people to stop believing what the Bible said. While Lyell was not much of a scientist, he was an expert and convincing lawyer and knew how to sway public opinion and also how to falsify data.
