v. 6-7 Suffering

1 Peter 1:6 & 7  Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found to praise and honour and glory at the appearing [Apokalupsis: removal of a covering or veil] of Jesus Christ

The trial of our faith is precious.  We are tried when we are drawn away by our own desires.  Each of us has a mind, a soul, that wants its own way.  The battle is for the mind.  Satan has been ruler over the soul since Adam obeyed Satan and became Satan's slave.  The son of a slave is a slave.  If we liken the mind, the heart and soul, to a garden, our gardens are full of weeds springing up from roots of bitterness.  These are strongholds of Satan and towers of Babel in our minds.  When our own minds tempt us, we have a choice.  We can decide to listen to God or listen to our own mind, or we can look away to Jesus.  When we look away to Jesus, he speaks to us of His will.  We know His will.  Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.  Faith gives us power to open the door to His grace.  His grace flows bringing the free gift of righteousness, and we can then yield our members as instruments of God.  Then, grace does the work of God through us.  Every time that God does His work through us, it is a measure of the removal of the covering, which is our flesh.  This is righteousness.  It is in the moment.  Whenever we stand in the presence of God in obedience in this way, we die to self.  Our souls, our minds, are renewed by the Holy Spirit, which is a cleansing river within us doing the work.  Create in us a clean heart, oh Lord.

1 Peter 1:6 & 7 appears to be referring to the final revealing of Jesus.

Apocalypse (two Greek words, apokalupsis, and apokalupto meaning approximately the same thing) Literally, it means the removal of a covering or a veil. God often provides the interpretation of Scripture within Scripture. There is one Scripture that gives us the key to the word, veil. Hebrew 10:19-20 says, Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

It appears to be something that occurs suddenly but that we walk into progressively.  It is receiving what Jesus already paid for.  For those who are faithful, it will be a day of light, and it will be just one more step.  It will not come as a thief in the night.  For the unfaithful, it will come suddenly as a thief in the night.  It will be a day...

Great Babylon of the Apocalypse is the confusion of voices. It is the divided church, squabbling, making merchandise of the saints and of religion. It is the divisional denominational system that has the unbelievers so mixed up that they wonder who they should believe. Babylon has come into existence from man-made forms, rituals, and governments--church orders that in no way reflect the orders that are established in Scripture. How many 1...

In obeying the Spirit of God, we are drawn closer. The flesh dies. We are built up in Christ. The book of Romans is actually a letter from Paul to the church at Rome. We wait for the manifestation, the removal of the veil of the fleshly nature and the redemption of our bodies. The quote is below, but it\'s easier to understand when it\'s in plain 21st century English: Romans 8:18-23 I, Paul, can see that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall absolutely be seen in us when the veil of our flesh is removed.  For the whole hearted expectation of...

Paul speaks of his gospel, and we can be sure from other Scripture that Paul's gospel was the same as the gospel of all the other apostles:   Romans 2:16 \"In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my [Paul\'s] gospel.\"   Romans 16:25 \"Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching...

The entire creation is waiting for the manifestation, the unveiling, of the sons of God. Romans 8:19  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Dear Brothers and Sisters, The trials of the saints have been many, but the victory is assured. Here is a "Word of Wisdom" gleaned from the writings of a forerunner of this present Move of the Spirit, offered as a word of encouragement to all who are going through "something": "When trials come our first inclination is to ask what we have done to deserve this, or why does God allow...

When you endure trials and suffering such as stress, betrayal, tragedy, disappointment, criticism, contempt, malice, rebukes, disrespect, disobedience, dismissal, tantrums, mind games, and such, and you respond correctly, you will be sanctified. This is what is meant by God\'s illustration of the refiner\'s fire (Zechariah 13:9, Haggai 2:7-9, Malachi 3:1-3, faith Is Much More Precious Than Of Gold\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://seekfind.net/1_Peter_17_The_Trial_Of_Your_Faith_Is_Much_More_Precious_Than_Of_Gold_.html\">1 Peter 1:6-7, Isaiah 48:10-11). While there is a lot we cannot know about God, there is a lot that we can know.  We can know what God reveals about Himself.  Consider the following points. God does not have any joy in seeing any person suffer. God is absolutely just, and there will be no suffering in vain.     Every person will see, in the end, that everything is fair, just, and right. ...

Our walk is one of overcoming the lies that we have been told. We need to see reality as it really is. If we could see reality regarding suffering, then we would always be thankful. It is the lies that are in our hearts that make us unthankful and unable to reap the benefits of suffering. Some of these lies were in our hearts from the day we were born....

Topic: Completeness or Perfection

The Bible speaks about a horrible and shocking thing. What is so horrible? The false prophets say that there is completeness when there is none. If God requires total holiness, how can a Christian live total holiness? Is it even possible? Yes, It is possible to live in total holiness, but watch out for this.
