1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 Abraham fathered Isaac; and Isaac fathered Jacob; and Jacob fathered Judas and his brothers;
3 And Judas fathered Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares fathered Esrom; and Esrom fathered Aram;
4 And Aram fathered Aminadab; and Aminadab fathered Naasson; and Naasson fathered Salmon;
5 And Salmon fathered Booz of Rachab; and Booz fathered Obed of Ruth; and Obed fathered Jesse;
6 And Jesse fathered David the king; and David the king fathered Solomon of her who had been the wife of Urias;
7 And Solomon fathered Roboam; and Roboam fathered Abia; and Abia fathered Asa;
8 And Asa fathered Josaphat; and Josaphat fathered Joram; and Joram fathered Ozias;
9 And Ozias fathered Joatham; and Joatham fathered Achaz; and Achaz fathered Ezekias;
10 And Ezekias fathered Manasses; and Manasses fathered Amon; and Amon fathered Josias;
11 And Josias fathered Jechonias and his brothers, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias fathered Salathiel; and Salathiel fathered Zorobabel;
13 And Zorobabel fathered Abiud; and Abiud fathered Eliakim; and Eliakim fathered Azor;
14 And Azor fathered Sadoc; and Sadoc fathered Achim; and Achim fathered Eliud;
15 And Eliud fathered Eleazar; and Eleazar fathered Matthan; and Matthan fathered Jacob;
16 And Jacob fathered Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the carrying away into Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations. *
18 And the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way: when His mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
19 Then Joseph, her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, decided to break the engagement secretly.
20 But while he thought about these things, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, you son of David, don't fear to take Mary to yourself as your wife, for The One Who is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit,
21 and she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He shall save His people from their sin."
22 Now all this was done, so that this might be Fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, who said,
23 "A virgin shall be with Child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His Name Emmanuel, which, being interpreted, is, God with us."
24 Then Joseph, being raised from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took his wife to himself:
25 And didn't know her until she had brought forth her firstborn Son: and he called His Name JESUS.

Young's Literal

1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Urias;
7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David [are] fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon [are] fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ [are] fourteen generations.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just [man], and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

King James Version

1 A roll of the birth of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham.
2 Abraham begat Isaac, and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob begat Judah and his brethren,
3 and Judah begat Pharez and Zarah of Tamar, and Pharez begat Hezron, and Hezron begat Ram,
4 and Ram begat Amminadab, and Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon,
5 and Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab, and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth, and Obed begat Jesse,
6 and Jesse begat David the king. And David the king begat Solomon, of her [who had been] Uriah's,
7 and Solomon begat Rehoboam, and Rehoboam begat Abijah, and Abijah begat Asa,
8 and Asa begat Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat begat Joram, and Joram begat Uzziah,
9 and Uzziah begat Jotham, and Jotham begat Ahaz, and Ahaz begat Hezekiah,
10 and Hezekiah begat Manasseh, and Manasseh begat Amon, and Amon begat Josiah,
11 and Josiah begat Jeconiah and his brethren, at the Babylonian removal.
12 And after the Babylonian removal, Jeconiah begat Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel,
13 and Zerubbabel begat Abiud, and Abiud begat Eliakim, and Eliakim begat Azor,
14 and Azor begat Sadok, and Sadok begat Achim, and Achim begat Eliud,
15 and Eliud begat Eleazar, and Eleazar begat Matthan, and Matthan begat Jacob,
16 and Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was begotten Jesus, who is named Christ.
17 All the generations, therefore, from Abraham unto David [are] fourteen generations, and from David unto the Babylonian removal fourteen generations, and from the Babylonian removal unto the Christ, fourteen generations.
18 And of Jesus Christ, the birth was thus: For his mother Mary having been betrothed to Joseph, before their coming together she was found to have conceived from the Holy Spirit,
19 and Joseph her husband being righteous, and not willing to make her an example, did wish privately to send her away.
20 And on his thinking of these things, lo, a messenger of the Lord in a dream appeared to him, saying, 'Joseph, son of David, thou mayest not fear to receive Mary thy wife, for that which in her was begotten [is] of the Holy Spirit,
21 and she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins.'
22 And all this hath come to pass, that it may be fulfilled that was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23 'Lo, the virgin shall conceive, and she shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,' which is, being interpreted 'With us [he is] God.'
24 And Joseph, having risen from the sleep, did as the messenger of the Lord directed him, and received his wife,
25 and did not know her till she brought forth her son -- the first-born, and he called his name Jesus.
