1 And when they drew near to Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, to the mount of Olives, Jesus send two disciples,
2 saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tethered and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to Me.
3 And if any man says anything to you, say, "The Lord has need of them, and immediately he will send them."
4 All this was done so that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell the daughter of Zion, "Your King comes to you, meek, and sitting on a donkey and a colt the foal of a donkey."
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the donkey, and the colt, and put their clothes on them, and they set Him up on the colt.
8 And a very huge crowd spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them in the way.
9 And the crowds that went ahead and that followed cried out, saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."
10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?"
11 And the crowd said, "This is Jesus, the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee."
12 And Jesus went into the Temple of God and drove out all those who sold and bought in the temple and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who sold doves,
13 and said to them, "It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves."
14 And the blind and the lame came to Him in the Temple; and He healed them.
15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did and the children crying out in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" they were very displeased and moved with indignation,
16 and said to Him, "Do You hear what these people are saying?"  And Jesus said to them, "Yes; haven't you ever read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and unweaned You have completed praise?'"
17 And He left them and went out of the city into Bethany, and He lodged there.
18 Now in the morning, as He returned into the city, He was hungry.
19 And when He saw a fig tree in the way, He came to it, and found nothing in it, but only leaves and said to it, "Let no fruit grow on you from this time forward into the Age."  And presently the fig tree withered away.
20 And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How quickly the fig tree is withered away!"
21 Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you that if you have supernatural belief and trust and don't doubt, you shall not only do this that is done to the fig tree, but also if you shall say to this mountain, 'Be removed, and be cast into the sea.' it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatever you ask in prayer, having the divine belief and trust, you shall receive."
23 And when He had come into the Temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him as He was teaching and said, "By what authority do you do these things and who gave you this authority?"
24 And Jesus answered and said to them, "I also will ask you one question, which if you tell Me, I also will tell you by what authority I do these things."
25 The baptism of John, where was it from, from Heaven or from men?" And they reasoned between themselves, saying, "If we say, From Heaven, He will say to us, 'Then why didn't you believe him?'
26 but if we say, 'Of men,' we fear the people, for they all hold John as a prophet."
27 And they answered Jesus, saying, "We cannot tell."  And He said to them, "Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
28 But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard.
29 The son answered and said, 'I don't want to,' but afterward he was sorry and went.
30 And he came to the second son, and said likewise. And he answered and said, 'I'm going, sir,' but didn't go.
31 Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said to Him, "The first. Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you that the publicans and the harlots will go into the Kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn't believe him, but the publicans and the harlots believed him, and you, when you had seen it, were not sorry afterward so that you would believe him.
33 Listen to another parable: "There was a certain householder who planted a vineyard, hedged it on every side, dug a wine press in it, built a tower, rented it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen so that they would receive the profit from it.
35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, killed another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first, and they did the same thing to them.
37 But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, "They will reverence my son."
38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.'
39 And they caught him and took him out of the vineyard and killed him.
40 Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those husbandmen?"
41 They said to Him, "He will miserably destroy those wicked men and will rent out his vineyard to other husbandmen who shall give him the profits at the right time."
42 Jesus said to them, "Didn't you ever read in the Scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the Head of the corner; this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?'
43 Therefore I say to you that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a people yielding the profit of it.
44 And whoever shall fall on this Stone shall be broken, but on whomever this Stone shall fall, It will grind that person to powder."
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard His parables, they perceived that He spoke of them.
46 But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the crowd because they took Him for a prophet.

Young's Literal

1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose [them], and bring [them] unto me.
3 And if any [man] say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set [him] thereon.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed [them] in the way.
9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.
15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased,
16 And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
17 And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.
18 Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
20 And when the disciples saw [it], they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
28 But what think ye? A [certain] man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I [go], sir: and went not.
31 Whether of them twain did the will of [his] father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen [it], repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
39 And they caught him, and cast [him] out of the vineyard, and slew [him].
40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out [his] vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.
46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

King James Version

1 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, unto the mount of the Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
2 saying to them, 'Go on to the village over-against you, and immediately ye shall find an ass bound, and a colt with her -- having loosed, bring ye to me;
3 and if any one may say anything to you, ye shall say, that the lord hath need of them, and immediately he will send them.'
4 And all this came to pass, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through the prophet, saying,
5 'Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Lo, thy king doth come to thee, meek, and mounted on an ass, and a colt, a foal of a beast of burden.'
6 And the disciples having gone and having done as Jesus commanded them,
7 brought the ass and the colt, and did put on them their garments, and set [him] upon them;
8 and the very great multitude spread their own garments in the way, and others were cutting branches from the trees, and were strewing in the way,
9 and the multitudes who were going before, and who were following, were crying, saying, 'Hosanna to the Son of David, blessed is he who is coming in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.'
10 And he having entered into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, 'Who is this?'
11 And the multitudes said, 'This is Jesus the prophet, who [is] from Nazareth of Galilee.'
12 And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and did cast forth all those selling and buying in the temple, and the tables of the money-changers he overturned, and the seats of those selling the doves,
13 and he saith to them, 'It hath been written, My house a house of prayer shall be called, but ye did make it a den of robbers.'
14 And there came to him blind and lame men in the temple, and he healed them,
15 and the chief priests and the scribes having seen the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, 'Hosanna to the Son of David,' were much displeased;
16 and they said to him, 'Hearest thou what these say?' And Jesus saith to them, 'Yes, did ye never read, that, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings Thou didst prepare praise?'
17 And having left them, he went forth out of the city to Bethany, and did lodge there,
18 and in the morning turning back to the city, he hungered,
19 and having seen a certain fig-tree on the way, he came to it, and found nothing in it except leaves only, and he saith to it, 'No more from thee may fruit be -- to the age;' and forthwith the fig-tree withered.
20 And the disciples having seen, did wonder, saying, 'How did the fig-tree forthwith wither?'
21 And Jesus answering said to them, 'Verily I say to you, If ye may have faith, and may not doubt, not only this of the fig-tree shall ye do, but even if to this mount ye may say, Be lifted up and be cast into the sea, it shall come to pass;
22 and all -- as much as ye may ask in the prayer, believing, ye shall receive.'
23 And he having come to the temple, there came to him when teaching the chief priests and the elders of the people, saying, 'By what authority dost thou do these things? and who gave thee this authority?'
24 And Jesus answering said to them, 'I will ask you -- I also -- one word, which if ye may tell me, I also will tell you by what authority I do these things;
25 the baptism of John, whence was it? -- from heaven, or from men?' And they were reasoning with themselves, saying, 'If we should say, From heaven; he will say to us, Wherefore, then, did ye not believe him?
26 and if we should say, From men, we fear the multitude, for all hold John as a prophet.'
27 And answering Jesus they said, 'We have not known.' He said to them -- he also -- 'Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
28 'And what think ye? A man had two children, and having come to the first, he said, Child, go, to-day be working in my vineyard.'
29 And he answering said, 'I will not,' but at last, having repented, he went.
30 'And having come to the second, he said in the same manner, and he answering said, I [go], sir, and went not;
31 which of the two did the will of the father?' They say to him, 'The first.' Jesus saith to them, 'Verily I say to you, that the tax-gatherers and the harlots do go before you into the reign of God,
32 for John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye did not believe him, and the tax-gatherers and the harlots did believe him, and ye, having seen, repented not at last -- to believe him.
33 'Hear ye another simile: There was a certain man, a householder, who planted a vineyard, and did put a hedge round it, and digged in it a wine-press, and built a tower, and gave it out to husbandmen, and went abroad.
34 'And when the season of the fruits came nigh, he sent his servants unto the husbandmen, to receive the fruits of it,
35 and the husbandmen having taken his servants, one they scourged, and one they killed, and one they stoned.
36 'Again he sent other servants more than the first, and they did to them in the same manner.
37 'And at last he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son;
38 and the husbandmen having seen the son, said among themselves, This is the heir, come, we may kill him, and may possess his inheritance;
39 and having taken him, they cast [him] out of the vineyard, and killed him;
40 whenever therefore the lord of the vineyard may come, what will he do to these husbandmen?'
41 They say to him, 'Evil men -- he will evilly destroy them, and the vineyard will give out to other husbandmen, who will give back to him the fruits in their seasons.'
42 Jesus saith to them, 'Did ye never read in the Writings, A stone that the builders disallowed, it became head of a corner; from the Lord hath this come to pass, and it is wonderful in our eyes.
43 'Because of this I say to you, that the reign of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth its fruit;
44 and he who is falling on this stone shall be broken, and on whomsoever it may fall it will crush him to pieces.'
45 And the chief priests and the Pharisees having heard his similes, knew that of them he speaketh,
46 and seeking to lay hold on him, they feared the multitudes, seeing they were holding him as a prophet.
