"My flesh trembles in fear of You. I stand in awe of your laws." Psalm 119:120

How completely this describes the fear of the Lord! It takes into account the fact that every Christ follower has a fleshly nature but each Christ follower IS the Christ that is formed within them.

Whenever God directs in the life of the Christ follower, the fleshly nature knows that it is going to be crucified a little bit. The fleshly nature screams and squirms and tries, sometimes successfully, to fool the Christ follower into following the fleshly nature rather than following Christ.

At the same moment, the Christ nature, that born again person, the spiritual man, stands in holy, reverant awe of the guidance and direction that is coming from the Head, Jesus Christ. The spiritual man knows that submission to the will of the Father will result in Christ being built up and more fully formed and the flesh being crucified and weakened.
