Paramours


Paramours:

  1. concubines
  2. a concubine was a woman living in a lawful marriage arrangement with a man, but whose status was regarded as being less than a wife.

 The Greek word is piylegesh, which is usually translated as "concubine."  In the one place that it is translated as paramours, it has a negative context.

 Ezekiel 23:20 For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.
