What happened to the church that it no longer follows the Biblical pattern?
"A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. 'Peace, peace,' they say, when there is no peace." Jeremiah 5:30-31, 6:14.
It's notable that the word that is translated “peace” in this verse is the word, Shalom. Shalom is used for “hello,” and “good bye.” Shalom, however, literally means, completeness. Every denomination seems to cry out, “Completeness, completeness,” when there is no completeness.
There is much to walk on to in God. Our Lord calls us to move on with Him to higher heights and deeper depths. Yet, all these advertising slogans of the various denominations are saying, “We have it all.” “We teach the true word of God.” “We have the fully complete gospel.” These kinds of sayings are designed to say, "Our denomination is best." The reality is that these kinds of sayings are actually proclaiming, "This denomination has stopped moving with God and is stuck in the dead letter."
“Come out of her. Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins.
Let the people who love God turn from the dead churches who have a form of religion but deny the power of religion. Let the people of God turn from the corrupt church and look into the Scripture and see that the thing that has been called "church" is not what the Bible calls "church." Let us build according to the pattern that God has given in Scripture.
