1 Kings

The revelation that God has given to the apostles, the testimony of the Holy Spirit through Scripture itself, the testimony of the Holy Spirit in the heart of every follower of Christ, rational (sane) thought, scientific method, and any other measure other than the creative rationalizations (insane stories) of the skeptics, all confirm the historical, material, and spiritual accuracy of every part of Scripture from the very beginning of Genesis to the very end of Revelation.

The kings of Israel.

1. David's old age--Adonijah's plot to become king--Nathan tells Bathsheba, Solomon's mother and they go to David--Solomon chosen and anointed king--Adonijah brought before Solomon

2. David's instructions to Solomon--David dies--Adonijah attempts a second plot--Adonijah is executed--Joab is executed--Shimei is executed--the kingdom established for Solomon

3. Solomon unwise in marriage--Solomon asks for wisdom and it is granted by God--Solomon judges wisely

4. Solomon's 11 princes and 12 officers--Solomon reigns in wisdom

5. Solomon, Hiram, and material for the temple--the laborers

6. building the temple--the temple completed according to the pattern that God gave

7. Solomon's palace--temple furnishings

8. the Ark of the Covenant placed in the temple--God's glory fills the temple (a type of the church when it comes to full maturity)--Solomon speaks to the people--the temple dedicated

9. God restates His promises and warnings--cities given to Hiram, king of Tyre, in exchange for his help with the temple--Canaanite slaves

10. the Queen of Sheba--Solomon's wealth, wisdom, and power

11. Solomon marries many non-Jewish women and serves their idols--God raises adversaries against Israel for Solomon's sin--Solomon dies and Rehoboam is anointed king

12. request to lower taxes--older counselors advise Rehoboam to lower taxes but Rehoboam decides to follow advice of younger counselors to raise taxes--the northern tribes revolt--the kingdom is divided with Jeroboam king of Israel (10 tribes) and Rehoboam king of Judah (2 tribes)--Jeroboam leads Israel into idolatry for political reasons

13. a prophet warns Jeroboam--the prophet leaves Jeroboam but disobeys God's command not to eat or drink with any person and is killed by a lion as judgment

14. Jeroboam sends his wife in disguise to Ahijah the prophet--God tells the prophet she is coming--prophecy of the terrible punishment for Jeroboam's sin and because he caused Israel to sin--Jeroboam dies--Judah did evil under Rehoboam: idol worship and other sins including sodomy, and Shishak of Egypt comes against Judah--Rehoboam dies

15. Abijam king of Judah walks in all the sins of his father and dies--Asa rules over Judah during the reign of Jeroboam in Israel and does right, removing the sodomites and idols, even his own mother's idol--Asa dies and Jehoshaphat is king of Judah--Nadab succeeds Jeroboam in Israel and does evil for 2 years--Baasha kills Nadab and every descendant of Jeroboam, then became king of Israel--war between Asa and Baasha--Baasha did evil just as Jeroboam had

16. Jehu prophesies against Baasha--Baasha dies and Elah his son becomes king for 1 year until Zimri killed him, became king and killed the entire household of Baasha and all his friends in fulfillment of prophecy and punishment for making Israel sin--Zimri reigned 7 days when Omri, commander of the army attacked and Zimri burned the house he was in--Israel divided, half making Tibni king and half making Omri king--Omri more wicked than any before him--Omri died and his son Ahab became king of Israel in the 38th year of Asa king of Judah--Ahab married Jezebel who served and worshiped Baal and did more to anger God than any before him

17. Elijah prophesies no rain, but God feeds him miraculously--Elijah raises the widow's son

18. Obadiah meets Elijah--challenge to the prophets of Baal--fire from heaven--the sound of rain and Elijah's miraculous run

19. Elijah eludes Jezebel--Elijah in the cave, depressed--the still small voice

20. Ben-hadad and 32 kings attack Samaria and threaten Israel--prophecy: Ahab to deliver Israel--Ahab delivers--a second victory over Ben-hadad but let Ben-hadad live--prophecy: because Ahab let him live when God had ordered him to die, Ahab would die

21. Ahab and Jezebel kill Naboth for his vineyard--Elisha prophesies predicting Ahab's and Jezebel's death

22. all Ahab's favorite prophets tell Ahab that he will win in battle but the true prophet says he will die--Ahab disguises himself but is killed in battle--Jehoshaphat continued in Judah and Ahaziah, who did evil, reigned in Israel
