There are really only two opinions, only two sides. There is that which is for Christ and that which is not for Christ. Jesus said that those who are not for Him are against Him. Jesus also said that those who are not against Him are for Him. There's no place in between. That means that a person may lead a very "good" life but not have a commitment to Christ. They are leading what they want to believe is a good life, but they are against Christ. Another person may have many faults and be very spiritually immature, but if that person is still connected to the Head, Jesus, God's Spirit is still working to continue the process toward maturity. The battle is heating up. The political side of the war is taking place on many fronts. We see a four-pronged attack in education, in the news media, on the internet, and in the entertainment media. We also see it at all levels of government, in the courts, the appointment of judges. Of course, we see an attack in the churches themselves. It is difficult to think of an area of life where the culture war is not being waged. Satan is attacking the Church.
Christians need to become aware that the world that they must overcome is that world that abides in their own flesh. For Christians, the task is to overcome the self. The only way the flesh can be overcome is by the Spirit, so Christians are called to an ever closer walk with God. By walking in the Spirit, they will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. As we all, with the veil of the flesh removed from our faces, behold, as if looking in a mirror, the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are changed into the same image from glory to ever increasing glory and all of this is accomplished by the Spirit of the Lord. See Second Corinthians, the third chapter.
These two definite and divergent groups are each trying to define Christianity. It's not just two opinions. It is two different spirits. Not only that, but two totally different types of faith are being exercised by the two sides. The two sides of the culture war even have totally different ways of reasoning. It gets worse. The two sides define "truth" and "lies" differently. Free speech for the churches has been a casualty in the culture war.
