Liberal Christianity

There are many definitions of the word, liberal, so some definition of terms is in order. In general, the type of liberalism the is spoken of here is a liberalism that makes the human mind equal to or greater than Biblical authority.

Liberal Christianity either tries to say we don't need Jesus or that saved or unsaved people can do good by their own effort. Liberal Christianity often denies the power and goodness of God and asserts the natural goodness of most people. Liberal Christianity presents a non-biblical church, often looking to human government, human creativity, human effort, human patterns and orders, and human-designed religion to do the work of the church.

There is no such thing as basic human goodness. This is a lie from Satan. The reality is the God speaks to every person, but only a few will respond. Very few want to hold God in their knowledge. Most refuse to acknowledge Him and would rather lean on their own understanding. (If you are familiar with the Bible, you will recognize the Scriptures upon which the previous sentence is built.) (some caveats about hearing God's Voice)

This page is addressing a mindset called liberalism that can be found in almost all organizations and most human hearts. It is addressing this viewpoint that is in the spirit of antichrist. The viewpoint is self-righteousness and is the real difference between a cult and the church. It is not addressing any particular organization, though you may recognize that many organizations, even churches, are primarily dedicated to teaching liberalism.

There are many differences between various cults and the church, but the common denominator is that cults all teach salvation by some other means than Christ alone while the church teaches salvation through Christ alone. As a result, cults tend to need a doctrine of human goodness. Liberalism is the cult of human goodness. Liberalim uses several means to rationalize its liberal dogma:

  • It tries to make God like a man. This is one of the main purposes of Evolutionism other than the fact that Evolutionism, if it were true, would make the gospel have no effect at all.
  • It tries to make God's law into something that humans can accomplish by their own effort and so-called "inner goodness."
    • It tries to make adultery, fornication, and other perversions of marriage into something that is not that bad.
    • It tries to make it OK to lie or cheat for "a good cause." A good cause might be something like promoting global warming theory, Evolutionistic theories, or sexual revolution theories.
    • It tries to make new laws and to be judgmental of those who do not obey the new laws.
  • It tries to make a case for every person's goodness.
  • It tries to make the Bible less authoritative.
  • It tries to make the human mind more authoritative.
  • It tries to make sin less sinful. In fact, some people who have been warped by liberalism will not use the word, sin or evil unless they are calling good evil.
  • It tries to say that there is no right or wrong.

Any person can be affected by doctrines of liberalism. If you attend a self-help group, you probably have been exposed to the Human Goodness Cult theology. If you read self-help books, you probably have been exposed to the Human Goodness Cult theology. If you have attended classes at a university, you probably have been exposed to the Human Goodness Cult theology. If you have attended high school or grade school, you probably have been exposed to the Human Goodness Cult theology. If you watch TV or movies or play video games, you probably have been exposed to the Human Goodness Cult theology. If you listen to popular music, you probably have been exposed to the Human Goodness Cult theology. Every cult teaches these things and cults use all the methods listed above to teach their doctrines, while Christians, who are commanded to lead people to Christ, are usually silent or else unconsciously repeating the cult doctrines without realizing that they are doing damage to souls of others.

Have you ever heard these:

"There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it ill behooves any of us to find fault with the rest of us."

"Most people are basically good."

"Every person has a seed of goodness in them."

"All people have a good part of their heart and an evil part of their heart."

"All people have a spark of God in them."

"All people have a little bit of God in them. You just have to find that God in them."

You just have to find that spark of goodness in others.

All of these are lies.

What does the Bible say?

The Bible, speaking of God, says, "My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. (Psalm 144:2)"

Jesus said, "There is none good but God."

Paul, speaking as a Christian, says, "I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out." Romans 7:18

John 1:9 speaks of "The light that lights every man the comes into the world." If someone shines a flashlight on you, is the light in you? No. Can you ignore the light or make it have no effect on you? Yes. That is why true Atheists protect themselves from Jesus. They do not want that light shining on them.

"The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time." Genesis 6:5 Without Jesus, this is the natural state of mankind. This is what happens without Christ.

Cults console their members that they are all basically good and that they can do good and please whatever god the cult is trying to please. Truth: They cannot please God and neither can we.

But what about Christ in us?

This is found in Colossians 1:27 That is a change that happens to us when we accept Christ. It starts like this. The Father draws us. He shines His light on us. At first, most people reject the light. Over time, through His love, the Father draws those who will be drawn. He keeps drawing them until the day when they accept Christ as the One who will rule over their lives and deliver them from the emptiness and pain of sin. Then, their most inner being, their spirit, is joined to the Spirit of Christ. That is the new birth. However, the fleshly nature still has no good in it. The battle between the flesh and the spirit begins. Before this point, the person was totally Satan's own, living in self-righteousness.

But didn't Jesus say, "You shall not judge?"

Let's look at the quote in context and then it might make sense. When you take seven words, Matthew 7:1a: "Judge not, that ye be not judged", out of a very important message, and you isolate those seven words from the meat of the message, this is called, "twisting the Scripture."

"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." - Matthew 7:1-5

First of all, this is talking about brothers (and sisters). This is talking about the family of God. The most blinding thing is to fail to discern the Body of Christ. Every member of the Body of Christ, that is, every person who has received Christ as Savior from the sinful nature and from all the associated punishment and who has received Christ as Master in a Master-servant relationship, has Christ in them. In fact, that Christ in them is their ministry. That person is the ministry, the Christ in them. They are not the flesh. You will not be recognizing the fact that you, yourself, are not your sinful nature but you are your ministry, you are the Christ who lives in you. Only when you see this can you get your "self" out of the way so that the Christ in you can deal with the sin in your brother and in your sister and also deal with the sin that is in you. Then, it will be the deep calling to the deep. Remember that there is none good but God and no one can do righteousness except God. If you yield yourself to the Holy Spirit, then the Holy Spirit can do righteousness, including encouragement, correction, and even rebuke, within you.

In John 7:24, Jesus said, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." Also, in many other places, Jesus instructs us to judge. We need to know clearly the difference between good and evil and choose the good and leave the evil. This is only possible by the Spirit of God. There is none good but God. We are to come into unity with God. As the Father and Jesus are one, God will make us one with Himself. John 17:11 & 20-23 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.... Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me." To the extent that we are one with Him we have power for righteousness because He is our righteousness. Not only that, but He is our wisdom, that is, righteousness (doing that which is right by the power of the Spirit, God doing His work within us as we yield to Him), holiness (having the very nature of God's goodness), and redemption (freedom from slavery to Satan). 1 Corinthians 1:30

Persons who are affected by liberal ideas are likely to refer to legalism or taking the Bible literally, both of which are simply slogans to many people. In other words, they don't understand what it is to walk in the Spirit, in righteousness that comes only from allowing the Holy Spirit to have control in a master-slave relationship to God so that they allow God to do God's righteousness through them. God is the only one who is righteous. God speaks, He leads. When He speaks, if we will acknowledge Him, He gives us His faith, His supernatural belief. He drops this belief into our minds and we believe. When we believe in this way, the belief in our minds gives us access to God's free gift of righteousness. Righteousness is love. Love fulfills the entire law of God and covers all sins. God's love flows in and goes out from us in the form of spiritual power in prayers, thoughts, words, and deeds. As it flows, it plants holy seed into our hearts and we are changed in some small ways, from glory to glory as we allow the Holy Spirit to keep doing His will in us. The Holy Spirit never sins. We cannot claim to be walking in this way when we are doing things that we know are against the will of God. The liberal never experiences this, so they don't know that such a power for righteousness exists. When a liberal uses the word, legalistic, they are talking about anything that complies to the will of God. When a follower of Christ uses the word, legalistic, they are talking about trying to fulfill the law of God through human effort. You see that the same word is being used, but the meaning is very different in each case. The logical errors that liberals are making when they refer to "taking the Bible literally" are to extensive to go into here, but this is a complex lie and accusation that comes from Satan.

Can you see the difference between liberalism and the Christian teachings?

The purpose of this page is to warn any who seek fulfillment about the problems associated with Liberal Christianity. This page is not here to disparage any group or any person. The purpose of this page is to keep those who desire fulfillment in Jesus to be fulfilled rather than discouraged. We are pointing out a disorder that can be corrected, though the political forces of organizations make correction almost impossible. Continuing in a disorder will result in frustration and lack of fulfillment. A further danger is that Christians who follow in disorders are much more likely to walk away from Christ completely. In fact, whole churches and multi-church organizations are slipping away from the Gospel and substituting another "gospel" and a different "jesus." Fulfillment is only available in Jesus Christ. Read more. Read even more. God does love those who are in disorder and would turn them to His path if they would soften their hearts toward Him. If you know anyone who is walking in disorder, it is important to look to Jesus and let the love of God flow to them as it is shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Ghost. Perhaps you will pray. Perhaps God will give you a word of wisdom or a word of knowledge.
